Now that you're acquainted with macronutrients that you eat follows the second step.
Be aware of what you eat. The quantity of food that you eat and what macronutrients your food consists of. When you go to the store purchasing foods, look for the labels on which nutritional values are written. On the internet there are many pages where you can find information about caloric values and quantity of nutrients in foods.
Caloric value, what's this. This is a unit that tells you how many energy in a certain unit of food. (About how many calories may I eat and why we will be discussing the third article). I would like to point out that calories are measured per amount of food! It is important that you are aware that, in one packed of product can be more than one unit of food.
In Europe we used for unit kcal- kilocalorie, for the sake of simplicity we will be talking about calories at the same time, we have in mind kilocalorie.
For example: a product contains 1 kg of food. On the product it says that the product has 70 kcal/ 100g, this means that it has 70 calories per 100 grams (which sounds a little). If you eat 1 kilogram of this produce, you will consume 10x70 calories = 700 calories, which is plenty.
Where calories come from? 1 Gram of carbohydrates and 1 gram of protein each have 4 calories, 1 gram fat has 9 calories.
As I have written before, try to be aware of what you eat. The most effective method is, that write down what you have consumed and what quantities you have ate and you have drunk during the day.
Try to be precise. You will get daily overview of what you eat. At the end of the day try to find nutritional value and content of nutrients in products you ate and add them together. That is how you will get best insight into what you ate. What results your measurements and observations mean you can read in the next article. Focus on how much protein, carbohydrate and fat you eat.
